As a result, they risk falling behind the competition in terms of customer experience and business processes and losing touch.

Digital (business) transformation mainly involves the transformation and further development of the customer experience, company processes and business models, based on a foundation of (possibly acquired) basic digital skills (e.g. standardised data and processes, business and information technology, integration and analytical skills).

However, digital (business) transformation is not primarily about technology, but about the way in which a company deals with new technologies and uses them to increase value for its customers.
